Just because I’m able to live in L.A. without a car, that doesn’t mean I expect everyone to join me in that lifestyle. However, it was fun to envision a future carless Los Angeles thanks to the Rethink LA exhibit at the Architecture + Design Museum. My photos from last night’s party are below.
Barring nuclear annihilation and a complete rebuild, I doubt L.A. as a whole will stop revolving around cars in the next 50 years. It’s great, though, that Rethink LA is pushing for alternatives to car dominance and is doing so with creativity and collaborative brainstorming. The Moving Beyond Cars exhibit runs through Sept. 4 and would be a good second stop if you’re across the street at LACMA.
